4.1 — LAMINATED & COATED FABRICS

Laminated fabric composites for footwear, industrial, and apparel applications.

A laminated fabric is a composite material produced by permanently bonding a face fabric to one or more backing layers — PU foam, EVA, non-woven, film, or another textile substrate. The properties of the finished composite — hand, structure, weight, peel strength, durability — are determined by the combination of face fabric, backing material, and bonding process chosen.

Shakti Group produces laminated fabrics through three processes: flame, adhesive, and powder-coat. Selection depends on what's being bonded, what performance the end product must deliver, and what the downstream manufacturing process — cutting, lasting, stitching, moulding — requires from the composite.

We work with a wide range of face fabrics including polyester, nylon, canvas, synthetic suede, mesh, and technical wovens. Backing constructions are specified per order. The same infrastructure that produces a shoe lining composite also produces an automotive door panel backing or an industrial workwear face fabric — the construction logic is consistent; the specification changes to match the end-use.
